
3 people rescued after good Samaritan notified Coast Guard of overturned boat

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (CBS12) — Three people were rescued off the coast of St. Petersburg after their boat overturned.
The U.S. Coast Guard said a good Samaritan alerted crews of the sinking vessel on Friday afternoon. When rescue arrived, they pulled the three aboard to safety.

Crews said the people were trying to lift the anchor when the boat suddenly overturned.
A Coast Guard official said it was the Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacon (EPIRB) that helped crews locate the stranded boaters.
