Coast Guard rescues 2 men 15 miles off Egmont Key

U.S. Coast Guard Station Cortez and US Coast Guard Station St Petersburg crews helped two men, Tuesday, after their boat’s battery died, 15 miles off Egmont Key.

The men activated a personal locator beacon and sent a satellite text to a friend notifying the USCG of their location and type of distress.

They were successfully brought ashore.
