Four Fishermen Rescued After Boat Capsizes Off Queensland Coast

Four fishermen in their 50s were rescued after their boat capsized off the Queensland coast while they were holidaying on K’gari (formerly known as Fraser Island). They activated their EPIRB, leading to a LifeFlight helicopter rescue.
Four fisherman have been pulled to safety in a dramatic rescue after their boat capsized off the Queensland coast. The men, all from NSW and aged in their 50s, were holidaying on K’gari, formerly known as Fraser Island, when their boat become swamped by a wave and capsized about 4.20pm on Thursday.
Four men rescued after boat capsized off Queensland coast. The boat was 3.4 nautical miles north of the island when it capsized, throwing the men overboard. Luckily, the men were able to set off their Emergency position-indicating radio beacon which alerted the Australian Maritime Safety Authority. A LifeFight helicopter was tasked and rushed to the EPIRB’s location.
