Stranded kayakers rescued by teenage tall ship crew
July 5, 2024

Two kayakers have been pulled from croc infested waters, after running into trouble off Hinchinbrook Island.
The Australian Maritime Safety Authority coordinated the rescue after a personal locater beacon was activated off Cape Sandwich, around 12:30pm yesterday.
A nearby tall ship, South Passage, crewed by a group of teenagers on a sailing adventure from Townsville to Cairns, responded to the distress signal, reaching the pair around 3pm and pulling them to safety.
