The United States Coast Guard rescued two men 31 miles off of Homosassa Springs on Sunday, the Coast Guard said in a media release.

The Coast Guard received an emergency alert from a registered 406MHz Personal Locator Beacon on Saturday night. The MG-60 Jayhawk aircrew arrived at the beacon location and found the 42-foot boat without power and unable to sail in the weather conditions.

At the time, winds were at 24 mph and there was a small craft advisory.

The two men on board the 42-foot vessel were taken to Air Station Clearwater in good health.

The owner of the boat is coordinating the salvage of the adrift boat.
