Walker swept down river by flood water saved by Kintail Mountain Rescue

A hiker who was stranded after being swept down river was saved by the Kintail Mountain Rescue Team last night.

The alarm was raised at 6pm after a walker triggered their emergency locator beacon.

A spokesperson for the team said: “The walker had tried to cross a river which was in spate due to the heavy rainfall over the last few days and were swept around 100m down stream.

“Luckily they had managed to get out but were now stuck on the wrong side of the river to get off the hill.
